Abstract (English): Interdisciplinary studies are part of an epistemological endeavour that has been introduced into Western thought due to the failure of specialised studies to convincingly answer many scientific questions and inquiries. Examined from the perspective of the philosophy of science, interdisciplinary thinking has offered an epistemological paradigm that replaces the rational, reductionist, simplifying one; it is a paradigm of multiplicity and complexity which opposes the limitation of scientific research within the framework of methodology, and paves the way instead for speciality pluralism as well as the possibility of benefitting from cognitive data that were considered as trivia in the rational school. Accordingly, this paradigm is arguably able to forge a new type of knowledge that emphasizes the dimensions of interaction, inter-relatedness's and complexity of things. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract (Arabic): الدراسات البينية نشاط معرفي عرفه الفكر الغربي بعد عجز المنظور المنهجي التخصصي عن تقديم أج وبة مقنعة على كثير من التساؤلات العلمية، ومن منظور فلسفة العلم جاء الفكر البيني ليقدم نموذجا معرفيا يقوم مقام النموذج العقلاني الاختزالي التبسيطي، هو نموذج التعدد والتعقيد، الرافض لحصر البحث العلمي في اطار المنهج ، وفتح المجال أمام التعدد التخصصي بالإضافة إلى إمكانية الاستعانة بمعطيات ادراكية ومعرفية كانت في عرف النزوع العقلاني نوعا من مهملات العلم، الشيء الذي يفترض به أن يحقق معرفة جديدة تركز على أبعاد التداخل والتشابك والتعقيد في الأشياء. إن ازدهار هذا النزوع العلمي الجديد في الثقافة الغربية أتاح له أن يوظف في مختلف ميادين المعرفة، وصارت المؤسسات والمراكز الاكاديمية والبحثية تعتمده بشكل رسمي، غير أن الواقع في الثقافة العربية لايزال بعيد عن الاستفادة من معطياته وذلك إذا استثنينا بعض المراكز والجامعات العربية التي فتحت أبوابها لتوظيفه على مستوى التكوين والبحث، وهذه الورقات محاولة تعريفية بالبينية وأهم مرتكزاتها المعرفية.
