مستخلص: This article discusses a study by the historian Reineccius (1541 – 1595) on aspects of the history of Ancient Thrace and the Thracians. Until now, this work – part of a comprehensive exploration entitled “Historia Ivlia, Siue Syntagma Heroicvm” – has remained unknown to modern researchers and they assumed, that scholarly interest in Thracian history emerged only in the first half of the 18th century. The article begins with brief notes on Reineccius’s biography and works, followed by an overview of the information about the Thracians in his book. It is noted that, in the section titled “Regnum Thracium” the author sequentially examines ancient evidence concerning the geographical scope of Thrace, the strongest Thracian tribes, the Thracians outside Thrace; afterwards he structures the available at his time information of ancient writers about Thracian kings, specifying their family relationships. Special attention is given to the Odryssian kings, constituting about a third of the content. Other kingdoms, which today are considered part of the Thracian ethno-cultural community, are examined in separate sections: Bosphorus, Paeonia and Pannonia, Getica, Dacia and Moesia. The text is complemented by stems indicating established connections between dynasties and kings. Reineccius’s work is remarkable for its rigorous research elements and strict adherence to ancient texts, correctly cited. Undoubtedly, due to these qualities, this study on Ancient Thrace has influenced research on the topic for the next two centuries. Based on the presented facts, it is concluded that Reineccius’s work can be considered the first attempt to systematize ancient information about Thrace and the Thracians. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Alternate Title: BETWEEN AUTONOMY AND TRADITIONS ‒ THE CHANGING ATTITUDES TOWARDS FAMILY AND THE AUTHORITY OF THE ELDERLY IN ROMA URBAN COMMUNITIES. (English)

    المصدر: Sociological Problems; 2022, Vol. 54 Issue 2, p496-520, 25p

مستخلص: The article explores the problem of the attitudes towards family and authority of the elderly shared in the Roma community and the changes in them. The example of two Roma neighbourhoods in regional cities (Sofi a and Stara Zagora) seeks to answer the questions: how these values change over time; which social groups in the Roma community are the bearers of these changes; and what are the experiences associated with them. The article presents the results of two quantitative surveys conducted in „Fakulteta“ district in Sofi a in 2002 and 2017, and a qualitative research in Stara Zagora within the action research approach. The main conclusion from the comparison of the two studies is that in the Roma communities in these two neighbourhoods there are social groups that manifest signifi cant (and to some extent similar) changes in the understandings of family relations. The changes are in the direction of autonomy and detachment from tradition. The main social groups that show such a change in the direction of autonomy from community norms are young women and respondents with secondary education. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Alternate Title: Patient- and family-centred care - satisfaction with care as an indicator of health care quality. (English)

    المصدر: Paediatria Croatica; Apr-Jun2021, Vol. 65 Issue 2, p90-94, 5p

مستخلص: Patient- and family-centred care is achieved through everyday communication with parents and their children. Communication consists of informing, educating, providing psychological support and psychological preparation for medical procedures and surgery. Patient- and family-centred care provides faster and better adaptation and reduces illness and procedure-related stress. The aim of this study was to assess the satisfaction of parents and patients with health care provided at the Division of Paediatric Surgery, Zagreb University Hospital Centre. This was a prospective single-centre study. Patients and parents filled out a questionnaire designed for this research. The questionnaire assessed the satisfaction of patients and families during a hospital stay. Parents and children answered open-ended questions anonymously before discharge. During processing and interpretation of the results, data were analysed and answers of the participants grouped according to their frequency. The study included 112 parents and 74 children. The results showed the patient- and family-centred provided at the Division of Paediatric Surgery to be one of the factors that contributed to the higher satisfaction rate of patients and their families, making it one of the indicators of the quality of medical care. In conclusion, the results of this analysis showed a high general satisfaction rate, high satisfaction regarding communication between medical staff and patients, hygiene, the environment of hospital premises and additional contents. Parents and children had different preferences regarding satisfaction during their hospital stay. Parents gave higher importance to communication with the staff, kindness, level of information and hygiene, whereas children appreciated additional contents and environment in hospital premises. Alternate Title: FROM “KINSHIP GATHERINGS” TO “SHOPPING”: DYNAMICS OF THE RELATIONS BETWEEN THE REGIONS OF PETRICH, REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA, AND STRUMICA, REPUBLIC OF NORTH MACEDONIA. (English)

    المصدر: Bulgarian Ethnology / B"lgarska Etnologiâ; 2020, Vol. 46 Issue 2, p260-274, 15p

    مصطلحات جغرافية: MACEDONIA

مستخلص: The article presents a case study of a particular part of the Bulgarian-North Macedonian border – the border regions of Petrich, Republic of Bulgaria, and Strumica, Republic of North Macedonia. The study is focused on the level of everyday experience. Its aim is to study how in their everyday life and transborder experience the people from the border regions adapt to the changing border regime and does this alter their “traditional” forms of contact. After the setting of a state/political border between the regions of Petrich and Strumica, the people adopt a pragmatic approach to this border and the life in the context of borderness. The pragmatism in the transborder contacts is not a particular form of relations rather one of their features which expends its range and significance in the course of time. The various layers of relations transform into tools for solving pragmatic issues in the everyday life in the border regions, i.e. the pragmatisation turns into a peculiar form of adaptation to the border. At the same time, the pragmatic attitude towards the border rearranges to a certain extent the different layers of the traditional relations putting the family, kin, friend and cultural ties aside. Nevertheless, as long as they function as tools for solving pragmatic issues, they remain and revitalize. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

مصطلحات موضوعية: LIFE skills, SOCIAL services, RELATIVES, FAMILY relations, PARENTS

    مصطلحات جغرافية: BULGARIA

مستخلص: The article is based on a large-scale study of young people leaving or left alternative care in Bulgaria. As one of the high-risk groups out of the public spotlight, they concentrate a series of problems that remain “invisible”: broken family relations, that lead to a lack of support from parents or relatives, a lack of skills for independent living, that offsets institutional reflex of the learned helplessness they manifest. Education for them is a possible way out of the status of one of the most vulnerable groups in society, but it too often falls victim to the frightening inter-institutional irresponsibility shared between the social services in which these young people live and the schools where they study. الوصف: In this study, on the basis of the documents preserved in the Archives of Dubrovnik, the author has described the activities of the family Alberto (Bono) in Dubrovnik, in the Serbian lands and Venice at the end of the 14th and during the first half of the 15th century. The founder of the family was ser Alberto Bono, chancellor by vocation. He came to Dubrovnik from Venice in 1388 and worked as a clerk in the city municipality until the end of his life (1407). However, his sons and a grandson were engaged in intermediary commerce, connecting the lands in the hinterlands of Dubrovnik, Serbia and Bosnia, with the Mediterranean. Thanks to the commerce of precious metals from the Serbian lands, the family became very rich and outstanding. The members of the family, as the citizens of Dubrovnik, were included both in the economical and social life of the city. It could be seen, among other things, that they all, like many other rich and distinguished citizens of Dubrovnik, were elected into the ranks of the Antunini, that they were given lands in Konavle and in the Dubrovnik settlements (commercial colonies). In the Serbian lands some of them, even very often, were elected into judicial commissions. Nevertheless, the members of the family Alberti maintained all the time business and family relations with their land of origin.
