    مستخلص: Introduction: Introduction: weight gain depends on multiple modifiable mediating factors, including ingestive behavior phenotype. The Eating Behavior Phenotypes Scale (EFCA) is a self-administered questionnaire designed as a tool for clinical use to characterize different sub-phenotypes of ingestive behavior: hedonic, compulsive, emotional grazing, disorganized and hyperphagic. Objectives: the aim of this study is to validate the psychometric properties of the Eating Behavior Phenotypes Scale (EFCA), to analyze the stability of the construct and its external validity. Materials and methods: three hundred adult participants completed a self-administered survey developed to identify eating behavior phenotypes (EFCA). A confirmatory factor analysis was performed, internal consistency was evaluated using Cronbach's alpha coefficient, and concurrent validity was assessed using Pearson's correlation method between EFCA and BMI. Results: the EFCA scale and the subscales showed an acceptable internal consistency (α > 0.70). The confirmatory factor analysis showed a good adjustment of the data to the proposed structure (SBχ922 = 155, p < 0.05; CFI = 0.97; TLI = 0.96; RMSEA = 0.05; SRMR = 0.04). A positive and statistically significant correlation was found between BMI and both each subscale and total scale scores. Conclusions: EFCA and its subscales are a valid instrument to assess eating phenotypes in adults. The five-component structure shows high stability and consistent results in relation to a previous study carried out with a sample of obese patients.

    مستخلص: To validate a formative evaluation instrument of the community health agent.
    Design: Methodological study with a quantitative approach.
    Location: Carried out in two municipalities in the South of Brazil.
    Participants: 40 nurses for 350 community health agents.
    Participants: The instrument was developed based on a competency framework of the Ministry of Health. The principal component analysis method was used for factor analysis. Internal validity and reliability were measured by Cronbach's alpha. The intraclass correlation coefficient, the Student's t test for paired samples and the ANOVA analysis of variance were used.
    Results: The factor analysis produced a factor structure with six factors and the 52 competencies of the original instrument were maintained. The final version of the instrument was structured into six domains: "Micro-area monitoring" (12 competencies), "Health promotion" (nine competencies), "Prevention and monitoring of specific groups and morbidities" (10 competencies), "Prevention and monitoring of environmental and social risk" (nine competences), "Planning and evaluation" (seven competences), "Teamwork" (five competences). Cronbach's alpha coefficient was 0.981, the test and the new test was p=0.851 by the Student's t-test, and the ICC was 1.0.
    Conclusions: The validated instrument constitutes an important reference in the discussion of the work of the Community Health Agent in the current context of public health policies. In addition to supporting the role of nurses in the supervision/in-service training of these professionals.

    مستخلص: Media pressure from gambling advertising has reached worrying levels. It constitutes a risk to the mental health of young people and adolescents by promoting a favourable attitude towards gambling, a higher frequency of gambling and a perception of greater accessibility. Currently, there is no instrument available to assess the impact of gambling advertising.
    Objective: The present study aims to adapt and validate the Impact of Gambling Advertising Scale (IGAS).
    Design: The IGAS scale was translated from English ensuring its linguistic, conceptual and metric equivalence. The psychometric properties were then tested. SITE: Comunidad Valenciana (España).
    Participants: 1724 adolescents with a mean age of 16.52 years (SD=.759).
    Intervention: Self-administered, paper-based questionnaire in a single measure.
    Main Measurements: Advertising impact, and gambling intention, severity and availability.
    Results: Internal consistency and two-half reliability were good, Cronbach's α=.782 and α=.70, respectively. Confirmatory factor analysis concluded that the Spanish version replicates the original three-dimensional version. Convergent validity analyses showed direct and significant relationships with different aspects of gambling behaviour, and other predictors.
    Conclusion: The adapted version of the IGAS is a reliable and valid measure for the assessment of the impact of advertising on adolescents. The scale is a useful instrument for the diagnosis of risk level and the evaluation of preventive interventions.

    مستخلص: Objective: To develop a valid and reliable scale to measure the role of the nursing professional in the community (REFCO).
    Design: Observational with cross-sectional and instrumental design. SITE: Populated centers and communities of the coast, highlands and jungle from Peru.
    Participants: The validation phase of the questionnaire had the voluntary participation of 402 Peruvian adults (50.7% from the coast, 40.5% from the highlands and 8.8% from the jungle).
    Interventions: The elaborated questionnaire that measures perceptions about the role of the nursing professional in the community was applied.
    Main Measurements: The psychometric properties of the REFCO scale were analyzed, such as content validation and internal consistency through the calculation of Aiken's V, exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and later confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), respectively. Finally, the reliability of the scale was calculated.
    Results: Overall, all values were statistically significant when evaluated with the V-Aiken coefficient. Likewise, the skewness and kurtosis values of all the items of the instrument did not exceed the range >±1.5. The correlations between factors 1 and 2 were significant (p < .05). The reliability of the scale presents a Cronbach's α coefficient = 0.865.
    Conclusions: The REFCO scale has 9 items and 2 dimensions; outreach and education; with content and construct validity that provide evidence for community nursing categories, which is useful for measuring nursing work in the community field.

    مستخلص: Background: The adaptation of older people to nursing homes may be problematic. Scales to assess the degree of adaptation are required.
    Aim: To adapt and evaluate the psychometric characteristics of the Scale of Adaptation of the Older Adults to their Residence (EAPAR) in the Chilean population.
    Material and Methods: EAPAR and self-esteem scales were applied to 106 people aged 79 ± 7 years (57% women) living in nursing homes. Reliability was measured using Cronbach's alpha.
    Results: The instrument was adequately understood by the Chilean participants. In the content validity, the structure of the scale appears homogeneous and with an acceptable statistical significance.
    Conclusions: EAPAR is a reliable and valid instrument to be used by health professionals.

    مستخلص: Decalogue for the Factor Analysis of Test Items.
    Background: In the study of the psychometric properties of the items of a test, a fundamental aspect is the analysis of their dimensional structure. The objective of this work is to provide some guidelines that allow the factor analysis of the items to be carried out in a rigorous and systematic way.
    Method: A review of the recent psychometric literature was carried out to identify the fundamental steps to be followed in order to carry out an adequate factor analysis of the items of a test.
    Results: Ten main recommendations were identified to carry out the factorial analysis of the items of a test: adequacy of the data and the sample, univariate statistics, justification of the analysis, selection of the analyzable items, type of model, most appropriate factorial solution, estimation of the parameters, adequacy of the factorial solution, substantive coherence of the model, and final version of the test.
    Conclusions: If the ten recommendations proposed in the current psychometric literature are systematically followed, it will be possible to optimize the quality of the tests and the decision-making based on the estimates of the scores obtained through them. These recommendations should be useful to both researchers and practitioners.

    الوصف: El pensament crític és un procés cognitiu que representa la capacitat de reflexionar sobre el propi raonament amb l'objectiu de maximitzar els resultats positius i minimitzar els errors a l'hora de prendre decisions. Un entorn sanitari complex i canviant, amb una major necessitat de cures centrades en el pacient i una pràctica basada en l'evidència, són factors que contribueixen a emfatitzar el pensament crític com a competència inherent a la professió. La capacitat del professional d'infermeria per aconseguir millorar la qualitat de cures depèn, en gran part, de desenvolupar habilitats de pensament crític per millorar la decisió diagnòstica. El pensament crític és un procés que pot ser incorporat durant l'etapa professional, però, segueixen sense resoldre alguns problemes associats a ell: la seva ambigüitat conceptual, la seva complexitat en el mesurament i l'encara poca evidència científica sobre la validesa de determinades estratègies de promoció. A nivell teòric, una de les autores que ha realitzat una major aportació al tema és Alfaro-LeFevre. Aquesta autora va plantejar un model circular de pensament crític de quatre components. Aquest model teòric, però, no ha estat operativitzat. Sovint, la investigació s'ha centrat a analitzar el pensament crític en l'àmbit de la formació universitària. Mentre que les investigacions en l'àmbit assistencial són escasses i amb resultats inconsistents. D'altra banda, no s'han trobat investigacions en l'àmbit nacional que aportin informació sobre propietats mètriques de cap instrument capaç d'explorar els components de pensament crític en infermeres en la seva pràctica clínica. Partint d'aquesta necessitat i amb la idea d'explorar el constructe de pensament crític en la pràctica infermera, la present investigació va tenir per objecte dissenyar i validar un instrument que contemplés els components de pensament crític en infermeres assistencials i poder determinar els factors que poden millorar la seva capacitat i precisió diagnòstiques. A partir del marc teòric d'Alfaro-LeFevre es va dissenyar un instrument per avaluar el pensament crític de les infermeres assistencials d'unitats d'hospitalització, nomenat Cuestionario de Evaluación del Pensamiento Crítico en la Práctica Enfermera (CuPCPE) i es va administrar a una mostra de 339 de infermeres assistencials d'un hospital de tercer nivell de la província de Barcelona, durant els mesos de març i abril de 2015. Posteriorment, es van realitzar les anàlisis de les dades amb proves descriptives, mètriques i de correlació. Els resultats obtinguts van ser acords amb el model teòric, evidenciant que el pensament crític és un concepte multidimensional, i confirmant que pot ser explicat per quatre components. D'altra banda, el CuPCPE va demostrar ser un instrument fiable (a= .96) per mesurar el constructe de pensament crític, a més de presentar bona estabilitat temporal (Coeficient de Correlació Intraclasse de .77). També es va observar que les infermeres assistencials presentaven nivells moderats d'habilitats en pensament crític. Entre d'altres resultats destacables, es va evidenciar que hi havia una relació estadísticament significativa entre habilitats de pensament crític i: l'edat (p <.001); els anys d'experiència laboral (p <.001); la unitat assistencial (p <.001); l'experiència en la mateixa unitat assistencial (p <.001); el torn laboral (p = .001); el tipus de contracte laboral (p <.001); la categoria professional (p <.001); el nivell acadèmic (p <.001); i la formació específica en metodologia infermera (p <.001). No s'ha trobat cap relació estadísticament significativa entre les habilitats de pensament crític i el gènere (p = .306). Els resultats van permetre concloure que el model teòric plantejat per Alfaro-LeFevre per a l'exploració del pensament crític en infermeres en l'àmbit clínic era vàlid i que el pensament crític està relacionat amb determinades variables sociodemogràfiques i professionals. Finalment, els resultats de les propietats psicomètriques de l'CuPCPE recolzen la seva utilitat en l'àmbit clínic i en futures investigacions relacionades amb l'exploració del pensament crític.

    الوصف (مترجم): Critical thinking is a cognitive process that represents the ability to reflect on own reasoning in order to maximize positive outcomes and minimize mistakes when making decisions. A complex and changing healthcare environment, with a greater need for patient-centered care and evidence-based practice, are contributing factors to emphasize critical thinking as an educational and professional competence. The ability of the nurse in order to improve the quality of care depends, in large part, to develop critical thinking skills to improve diagnostic decision. Critical thinking is a process that can be incorporated during the professional stage, however some issues remain unresolved associated with it, its conceptual ambiguity, complexity measurement and still little scientific evidence on the validity of certain strategies promotion. Theoretically, an author who has made a major contribution to the subject is Alfaro-LeFevre. This author proposed a circular four components critical thinking model. This theoretical model, however, has not been operationalized. Often the research has focused on analyzing the critical thinking in the field of university education. While research in the healthcare field are scarce and inconsistent results. Moreover, they have not found research at the national level to provide information on metric properties of any instrument capable of exploring the components of critical thinking in nurses in their clinical setting. Based on this need, with the idea of exploring the construct of critical thinking in clinical nurses, this research aimed to design and validate an instrument that contemplate the components of critical thinking in care nurses and to determine the factors that can improve their ability and diagnostic accuracy. Based on the theoretical framework Alfaro-LeFevre an instrument was designed to assess critical thinking of nurses care inpatient units, named assessment questionnaire critical thinking in practical nurse (CuPCPE) and administered to a sample of 339 nurses care of a tertiary hospital in the province of Barcelona, during the months of March and April 2015. Subsequently the descriptive metric and correlation analyzes were performed. The results were consistent with the theoretical model, showing that critical thinking is a multidimensional concept, consists of four components. Moreover, the CuPCPE proved to be a reliable instrument (a= .96) to measure the construct of critical thinking, besides presenting good temporal stability (Coefficient of Intraclass Correlation .77). It was also noted that clinical nurses had moderate levels of critical thinking skills.Among other notable results, it was observed that there was a statistically significant relationship between critical thinking skills and: the age (p<.001); b) the years of work experience (p<.001); the care unit (p<.001); the experience the same care unit (p<.001); the work shift (p= .001); the type of employment contract (p <.001); the professional category (p<. 001); the academic level (p<. 001), and the specific training in nursing methodology (p<. 001). No statistically significant relationship between critical thinking skills and gender found (p= .306). The results concluded that the theoretical model proposed by Alfaro-LeFevre for exploration of critical thinking among nurses in clinical settings was valid. It was also concluded that critical thinking is related to certain demographic variables and professional partner. Finally the results of the psychometric properties of CuPCPE support its usefulness in clinical practice and future research related to the exploration of critical thinking.

    الوصف: School-related stress and burnout can have serious consequences for students’ well-being and academic outcomes. However, there are few studies that assess the prevalence of school burnout, especially in Germany. The present study aims to determine the percentage of N = 1117 high school students who are likely to suffer from school burnout—also with regard to differences in gender and grade level. For this purpose, two different cut-off criteria are compared. Prior to this, the psychometric quality of the MBI-SuS adapted to the school context is examined. The validity and reliability of the three-factor MBI-SuS could be confirmed. Scalar measurement invariance was found for grade level but only partially for gender. The overall prevalence of school burnout of 20.9% found with the common cut-off criterion fits international prevalences, whereas the prevalence of 4.6% (determined with our recommended content-related cut-off criterion) is in line with observations from clinical practice. Depending on the cut-off value, girls suffer slightly more from school burnout, but no differences were found with respect to grade level. Results indicate that a substantial proportion of students are at risk for school burnout, highlighting the importance of prevention and intervention. Criteria for cut-off values should be applied with caution.

    مستخلص: Researchers and practicing professionals are continually assessing the positive effects of psychosocial factors at work. This study psychometrically examined use of the ultra-short version of the Utrech Work Engagement Scale (UWES-3). Two hundred workers in Lima, Peru participated, ranging from 21 to 53 years of age. We corroborated the validity of the scale,  according to its internal structure and relationship with other constructs; Cronbach alpha (α), omega (ω) and H coefficients were the reliability estimators. Results confirmed the unidimensionality of the UWES-3 and its negative association with burnout syndrome; scale reliability, based on the three estimators, was high. The initial validity and reliability results of the UWES-3 can be considered satisfactory and encourage its continued use in the Peruvian workforce.
