Abstract (English): The Arabian Peninsula is considered an area of attraction and interest for many, as it occupies a distinguished geographical and strategic position as it is located in the heart of the world at the intersection point of the main transportation lines, and it links the Arabian Gulf with the Red Sea in the west, and links Levant and Iraq to the south of the Arabian Peninsula, which is the home of civilizations and the cradle of messages. I witnessed the arrival of a number of European travelers since the fifteenth century AD, and the goals and motives of these Western travelers who found all the support and encouragement from their countries varied and varied. In identifying many aspects of the history of the Arabian Peninsula, and its various geographical, political, economic and social aspects. The trips are an important source of the history of the Arabian Peninsula because of the important and valuable information they contain, and despite the information that was covered in the travel books and that the travelers gleaned from their trips, it is not possible to accept all the information contained therein without examination and consideration and without subjecting it to discussion and controversy. This research and its title: (Objectives and Motives of Western Journeys to the Arabian Peninsula) show some of those goals and motives, and the research included: Introduction: It includes the importance of the topic, the reason for choosing it, and the research method and plan. -First: The importance and objectives of western trips. Second: Motives for the western voyages to the western peninsula. Third: The reasons that prompted the travelers to take trips to the Arabian Peninsula. - Conclusion: The study concluded with the most important results the researcher, then it was followed by the proven sources, references and indexes. Abstract (Arabic): عدت منطقة شبه الجزيرة العربية منطقة جذب واهتمام للكثير من الرحالة المهتمين بالبحث عن تاريخها إذ إنها تحتل موقعاً جغرافياً واستراتيجياً متميزاً حيث تقع في قلب العالم عند نقطة تقاطع خطوط المواصلات الرئيسة، وهي تربط الخليج العربي بالبحر الأحمر غرباً، وتربط الشام والعراق بجنوب شبه الجزيرة العربية، وهي موطن الحضارات ومهد الرسالات، فشهدت قدوم عدد من الرحالة الأوروبيين مند القرن الخامس عشر الميلادي العاشر الهجري، وقد تنوعت واختلفت أهداف ودوافع هؤلاء الرحالة الغربيين الذين وجدوا كل الدعم والتشجيع من دولهم، فقدموا إلى الجزيرة العربية وتنقلوا بها، وسجلوا كل ما شاهدوه وسمعوه في مدونات وسجلات شاملة مهمة تساعد كل باحث في التعرف على جوانب كثيرة من تاريخ الجزيرة العربية، ومختلف نواحيها الجغرافية والسياسية والاقتصادية والاجتماعية. وتعد الرحلات مصدراً مهماً من مصادر تاريخ شبه الجزيرة العربية لما تحتويه من معلومات مهمة وقيمة، وعلى الرغم من المعلومات التي تناولتها كتب الرحلات والتي استقاها الرحالة من رحلاتهم، إلا أنه لا يمكن القبول بكل ما ورد فيها من معلومات دون فحص ونظر ودون إخضاعها للمناقشة والجدل. ويظهر هذا البحث وعنوانه: (أهداف الرحلات الغربية إلى الجزيرة العربية ودوافعها) بعضاً من تلك الأهداف والدوافع، واشتمل البحث على: - المقدمة: وتتضمن أهمية الموضوع وسبب اختياره، ومنهج البحث وخطته. - أولاً: أهمية الرحلات الغربية وأهدافها. - ثانياً: دوافع الرحلات الغربية لشبه الجزيرة العربية. - ثالثاً: الأسباب التي دعت الرحالة للقيام بالرحلات إلى شبه الجزيرة العربية. وختمت الدراسة بأهم النتائج التي وصل إليها البحث، ثم تلا ذلك ثبت المصادر والمراجع والفهارس. Abstract (English): This study seeks to provide a vision as travel literature is an art of Arab literature and a source of archaeological resources to write history to present a varied picture of the approach of western globetrotters writings about the Arabian Peninsula in general, and the Al-Ehsa'a region and its people in particular,the importance of which is due to its distinguished location on the Arabian Gulf coast that links the west with the East. As the writings of Western globetrotters approaches was drawn up by different points of view in order to reach an appropriate approach for the study of trips literature in general, and to shed light on the methodology of these globetrotters in their writings and their impressions about the Al-Ehsa'a region and to be able to extract an integrated history for the region. To achieve these two aims, it is necessary to review the academic studies concerned with the research In this study,the researcher used the ethno-historical approach, which is an approach based on following the methods of the descriptive ethnographic approach, by examining the content of the writings of globetrotters as a research samplea,nd then following the description through the reality of the observations,and on collecting the scientific material from the books of western globetrotters during that period,and then study and analyze it. To elicit and extractconclusions from their books as globetrotters and researchers,but in death they only came to collect information and present it to their countries, while they left us with a historical legacy that reveals the extent of their interest in studying Muslim societies,and informs us to know what was in the past after examining and checking it. Abstract (Arabic): تسعى هذه الدراسة إلى تقديم رؤية باعتبار أدب الرحلات فنًا من فنون الأدب العربي؛ ومصدرًا من المصادر الأثرية المساعدة لكتابة التاريخ. وتقديم صورة متنوعة حول منهج كتابات الرَّحالة الغربيين في أراضي شبه الجزيرة العربية عامة ومنطقة الأَحْسَاء وشعوبها بصفة خاصةً والتي تعود أهميتها إلى موقعها المتميز على ساحل الخليج العربي الذي يربط الغرب بالشرق. وكما رسمت مناهج كتابات الرَّحالة الغربيين من وجهات نظر مختلفة. بغية التوصل إلى منهج ملائم لدراسة أدب الرحلات بشكل عام، وإلى إلقاء الضوء على منهجية هؤلاء الرَّحالة في كتاباتهم وانطباعاتهم حوله منطقة الأَحْسَاء وحتى يمكن الخروج بتاريخ متكامل للمنطقة. ولتحقيق هذين الهدفين، يتطلب الأمر مراجعة الدراسات العلمية التي عنيت البحث. واستخدمت الباحثة في هذه الدراسة المنهج الإثنوتاريخي، وهو منهج قائم على اتَّبِاع أساليب المنهج الوصفي الإثنوغرافي، من خلال فحص محتوى كتابات الرَّحالة عينة البحث ومن ثم متابعة الوصف من واقع الملاحظات، وعلى جمع المادة العلمية من كتب الرَّحالة الغربيين خلال تلك الفترة، ومن ثم دراستها وتحليلها. ولاستنباط واستخلاص النتائج من كتبهم وعلى أنهم رَّحالة وباحثون، ولكنهم في الحقيقة ما أتوا إلا لجمع المعلومات وتقديمها لدُولِهم، كما أنهم تركوا لنا إرثًا تاريخيًا يكشف مدى اهتمامهم بدراسة المجتمعات المسلمة، وتفيدنا بمعرفة ما كان موجودًا في الماضي بعد فحصه وتدقيقه. أهم التوصيات: إنشاء مراكز لكتابة الدراسات الأجنبية وفحصها وتدقيقها.
