الوصف: Companies are increasingly conscious of the importance of Enterprise Architecture (EA) to represent and manage IT and business in a holistic way. EA modelling has become decisive to achieve models that accurately represents behaviour and assets of companies and lead them to make appropriate business decisions. Although EA representations can be manually modelled by experts, automatic EA modelling methods have been proposed to deal with drawbacks of manual modelling, such as error-proneness, time-consumption, slow and poor readaptation, and cost. However, automatic modelling is not effective for the most abstract concepts in EA like strategy or motivational aspects. Thus, companies are demanding hybrid approaches that combines automatic with manual modelling. In this context there are no clear relationships between the input artefacts (and mining techniques) and the target EA viewpoints to be automatically modelled, as well as relationships between the experts' roles and the viewpoints to which they might contribute in manual modelling. Consequently, companies cannot make informed decisions regarding expert assignments in EA modelling projects, nor can they choose appropriate mining techniques and their respective input artefacts. This research proposes a decision support system whose core is a genetic algorithm. The proposal first establishes (based on a previous literature review) the mentioned missing relationships and EA model specifications. Such information is then employed using a genetic algorithm to decide about automatic, manual or hybrid modelling by selecting the most appropriate input artefacts, mining techniques and experts. The genetic algorithm has been optimized so that the system aids EA architects to maximize the accurateness and completeness of EA models while cost (derived from expert assignments and unnecessary automatic generations) are kept under control.

الوصف: Governmental and local authorities are facing many new information and communication technologies challenges. The amount of data is rapidly increasing. The data sets are published in different formats. New services are based on linking and processing differently structured data from various sources. Users expect openness of public data, fast processing, and intuitive visualisation. The article addresses the challenges and proposes a new government enterprise architecture framework. The following partial architectures are included: big and open linked data storage, processing, and publishing using cloud computing. At first, the key concepts are defined. Next, the basic architectural roles and components are specified. The components result from the decomposition of related frameworks. The main part of the article deals with the detailed proposal of the architecture framework and partial views on architecture (sub-architectures). A methodology, including a proposal of appropriate steps, solutions and responsibilities for them, is described in the next step - after the verification and validation of the new framework with respect to the attributes of quality. The new framework responds to emerging ICT trends in order to evolve government enterprise architecture continually and represent current architectural components and their relationships. Vládní a místní autority čelí v oblasti informačních a komunikačních technologií mnoha novým výzvám. Množství dat rychle narůstá. Datové sady jsou publikovány v různých formátech. Nové služby jsou založeny na propojení a zpracování různě strukturovaných dat z různých zdrojů. Uživatelé očekávají otevřenost dat veřejné správy, rychlé zpracování a intuitivní vizualizaci. Tento článek se zabývá těmito výzvami a navrhuje nový rámec podnikové architektury veřejné správy. Zahrnuty jsou následující dílčí architektury: ukládání, zpracování a zveřejňování big a open linked dat s využitím cloud computingu. Nejprve jsou definovány klíčové pojmy. Dále jsou specifikovány základní architektonické role a komponenty. Identifikované komponenty vycházejí z dekompozice souvisejících rámců. Hlavní část článku řeší podrobný návrh architektonického rámce a dílčí pohledy na architekturu (sub-architektury). Metodika, včetně návrhu potřebných kroků, řešení a odpovědností za ně, je popsána v další části - po verifikaci a validaci nového rámce s ohledem na atributy kvality. Nový rámec reaguje na aktuální trendy v oblasti ICT s cílem neustále rozvíjet a přizpůsobovat podnikovou architekturu veřejné správy a zahrnovat do ní relevantní architektonické komponenty a jejich vztahy.

الوصف: Current software systems are rarely static and need to be able to change their topology and behavior to the changing context. To support the communication among stakeholders, guide the design decisions, and analyze the architecture it is important to model the adaptability concerns explicitly. In practice, architectural concerns are represented using architecture views that are derived from the corresponding architecture viewpoints. Different software architecture viewpoints have been introduced but runtime adaptability has not been broadly considered and remains implicit in the architecture views. In this paper we introduce the adaptability viewpoint that can be used for modeling dynamically configurable software architectures. We illustrate the viewpoint for a demand-driven supply chain management system.

الوصف: The business environment changes rapidly and needs to adapt to the enterprise business systems must be considered for new types of requirements to accept changes in the business strategies and processes. This raises new challenges that the traditional development approaches cannot always provide a complete solution in an efficient way. However, most of the current proposals for automatic generation are not devised to cope with rapid integration of the changes in the business requirement of end user (stakeholder’s and customer’s) resource. Domain-specific Rules constitute a key element for domain specific enterprise application, allowing configuration of changes, and management of the domain constraint within a domain. In this paper, we propose an approach to the development of an automatic generation of the domain-specific rules by using variability feature model and ontology definition of domain model concepts coming from Software product line engineering and Model Driven Architecture. We provide a process approach to generate a domain-specific rule based on the end user requirement.

الوصف: Organisations use Enterprise Architecture (EA) to reduce organisational complexity, improve communication, align business and information technology (IT), and drive organisational change. Due to the dynamic nature of environmental and organisational factors, EA descriptions need to change over time to keep providing value for its stakeholders. Emerging business and IT trends, such as Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), may impact EA frameworks, methodologies, governance and tools. However, the phenomenon of EA evolution is still poorly understood. Using Archer's morphogenetic theory as a foundation, this research conceptualises three analytical phases of EA evolution in organisations, namely conditioning, interaction and elaboration. Based on a case study with a government agency, this paper provides new empirically and theoretically grounded insights into EA evolution, in particular in relation to the introduction of SOA, and describes relevant generative mechanisms affecting EA evolution. By doing so, it builds a foundation to further examine the impact of other IT trends such as mobile or cloud-based solutions on EA evolution. At a practical level, the research delivers a model that can be used to guide professionals to manage EA and continually evolve it.

الوصف: The novel idea of inter-enterprise architecture from the enterprise engineering perspective allows collaborative networks to integrate and coordinate different organizations. Therefore, inter-enterprise architecture offers multiple benefits, including: joint process harmonization, business strategy and information technology alignment, technological cost reduction, risk and redundancies reduction, customer services improvement and enhanced responsiveness. Interenterprise architecture can be used to solve the different issues that collaborative networks face on a daily basis. A conceptual model that addresses the problem of unexpected events management in the context of hierarchical production planning to improve decision-making in collaborative environments is proposed using inter-enterprise architecture. The proposed conceptual model is composed of a framework, a modeling language and the methodology. The conceptual model has been applied to a Spanish collaborative network from the ceramic tile sector. © 2015 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
