Abstract (English): The role that the library of Dammam University plays on bridging the digital divide is very important from the library user's point of view. To identify this role, a questionnaire paper was conducted on a sample of regular users to collect data. the questionnaire contained 52 variable pattern that discuss the digital information service in order to measure the role played by the library in bridging the digital divide and the role of languages in bridging the information gap between developed and developing countries. The results indicated that the arithmetic mean of the study sample answers about the role played by the library in providing information service is ranged between very high and low. As well as, they indicated that some of the main issues faced by users are; the use of foreign languages and lack of information in Arabic language on the internet especially the academic information. The study recommended that bridging the digital divide depends on the role played by libraries and information centers, developing the Arabic digital content to meet the needs of users and to satisfy their academic desires and further studies on measuring the digital divide and ways to bridge it in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Abstract (Arabic): ما قامت به مكتبة جامعة الدمام في تجسير الفجوة الرقمية من وجهة نظر المستفيدين ذا أهمية كبيرة، وللتعرف على هذا الدور تم توزيع استبانة لجمع البيانات على عينة من المستفيدين، حيث ضمت ( 52 ) متغير تناقش خدمات المعلومات الرقمية لقياس مدى الدور الذي تقوم به المكتبة في تجسير الفجوة الرقمية، إضافة إلى دور اللغات في تجسير الفجوة المعلوماتية بين الدول الغربية والنامية. أشارت النتائج إلى أن الوسط الحسابي لإجابات اف ا رد العينة حول دور المكتبة في توفير خدمات المعلومات ت ا روح ما بين عالٍ جدا ومتدنٍ. وان أكثر العوائق التي يعاني منها المستفيدون حول استخدام اللغات الاجنبية، وضعف اللغة العربية على الإنترنت وخاصة المعلومات الاكاديمية. أوصت الد ا رسة بأن تجسير الفجوة الرقمية يعتمد على الدور الذي تلعبه المكتبات وم ا ركز المعلومات، وضرورة بناء المحتوى العربي الرقمي لسد حاجات المستفيدين واشباع رغباتهم، وٕاج ا رء المزيد من الد ا رسات حول قياس الفجوة الرقمية وطرق تجسيرها في المملكة العربية السعودية.
