Abstract (English): Al-Bakri in this manuscript "Ghayat Altalab fi fadhili Al-Arab" wanted to collect the narrations mentioned in the merits of Arabs which were forty narrations attributed to their narrators and followed control of the strange of their meanings . This research is a study and investigation on of this manuscript . It ineludes an introduction in which I pointed out the importance of the subject and the reason behind its choice and the plan I adopted in the study and investigation . This research consists of two parts ; the first part represents the theoretical study,whereas the second is the investigation . As concerns the first part, it is divided into sections : the first section is about the biography of the author . It includes his name, surname, his scientific rank, his teachers and his writings . As concerns the second, it is about the study of the book and it includes the title of the book and the validity of its attribution to its author, in addition to the author's method when writing it and the description of copying the book and the researcher's method in the investigation . As regards the second section, it includes the text that was investigated . Finally, the List of sources and references was written. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract (Arabic): أ ا رد البكري في هذا المخطوط وهو غاية الطلب في فضل العرب، جمع الروايات الواردة في فضل العرب وهي اربعون رواية معزوة لمخرجيها، متبعا ضبط الغريب من معانيها، وكانت طبيعة بحثي د ا رسة هذا المخطوط وتحقيقه، فتضمن مقدمة، شرحت فيها أهمية الموضو ع وسبب اختياره، والخطة التي سرت عليها في الد ا رسة والتحقيق، واشتمل على قسمين، الأول القسم الد ا رسي، والثاني قسم التحقيق. أما القسم الأول، فق د جعلته ف ي مبحثين، كان المبحث الأول خاص ا بد ا رسة حياة المؤلف، وق د ضمنته خمس ة مطالب ع ن اسم ه وكنيته ومكانته العلمية وشيوخه ومؤلفاته. وكان المبحث الثاني خاص ا بد ا رسة الكتاب، فقد احتوى على اربعة مطالب تتعلق بعنوان الكتاب وصحة نسبته إلى مؤلفه، ومنهج المؤلف فيه ومصادره، وكذلك وص ف نسخ الكتاب، ومنهجي في التحقيق. وأما القس م الثاني، فقد احتوى على النص المحق ق. ثم قائمة المصادر والم ا رجع. وحسبي أنى بذلت الجهد بنية صادقة، والله تعالى اسأل التوفيق والسداد.
