    الوصف: The purpose of the study was to assess the frequency of bile duct confluence variations in patients with hilar cholangiocarcinoma and in patients with no biliary lesions.Material and Methods. The study included 203 patients with Klatskin tumor (study group) and 191patients having no bile duct lesions (control group). All patients underwent abdominal MRI including MR-cholangiopancreatography. In addition, 141 patients from the study group underwent percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography. Anatomic variations of the bile duct confluence were based on Nakamura classification.Results. In the study group, type I, II, III, IV and V confluences were detected in 27.6 %, 22.2 %, 1.5 %, 36.0 % and 2.4 % of cases, respectively. In the control group, the frequencies of each type of the bile duct confluence were as follows: type I in 75.0 %, type II in 9.3 %, type III in 0.5 %, type IV in 14.2 % and type V in 1.0 %.     الوصف: In this paper, we study spectral properties of non-self-adjoint operators with the discrete spectrum. The main challenge is to represent a complete description of belonging to the Schatten class through the properties of the Hermitian real component. The method of estimating the singular values is elaborated by virtue of the established asymptotic formulas. The latter fundamental result is advantageous since, of many theoretical statements based upon it, one of them is a concept on the root vectors series expansion, which leads to a wide spectrum of applications in the theory of evolution equations. In this regard, the evolution equations of fractional order with the sectorial operator in the term not containing the time variable are involved. The concrete well-known operators are considered and the advantage of the represented method is convexly shown.

    الوصف: The Levant represents one of the most important reptile diversity hotspots and centers of endemism in the Western Palearctic. The region harbored numerous taxa in glacial refugia during the Pleistocene climatic oscillations. Due to the hostile arid conditions in the warmer periods they were not always able to spread or come into contact with populations from more distant regions. One large and conspicuous member of the Levantine herpetofauna is the legless anguid lizard Pseudopus apodus. This species is distributed from the Balkans to Central Asia with a portion of its range running along the eastern Mediterranean coast. Mitochondrial and nuclear DNA sequences, microsatellite genotypes, and morphology show that populations in this region differ from the two named subspecies and presumably had a long independent evolutionary history during the Quaternary. Here we describe the Levantine population as a new subspecies and present biogeographic scenarios for its origin and diversification. The new subspecies is genetically highly diverse, and it forms a sister lineage to Pseudopus from the remaining parts of the range according to mtDNA. It is the largest-bodied of the three subspecies, but occupies the smallest range.

    الوصف: This work summarizes information on the distribution and status of the populations of amphibians and reptiles of the city of Sevastopol. Data obtained over a quarter of a century were refined by a targeted herpetological examination of the entire territory of Sevastopol (over 1000 km2 ) in 2018 and early 2019. Most species of amphibians and reptiles known in Crimea are recorded from the Sevastopol Region, with the exception of some taxa that inhabit only or mainly plains environments (Pelobates vespertinus, Eremias arguta, and Lacerta agilis exigua). Most taxa included in the Red Book of Sevastopol, to date, retain stable populations. Apparently, Vipera renardi has disappeared from the region. Analysis of the taxon chorotypes indicates a dominance of species of Mediterranean (sensu lato) origin. The mild climate of the southwestern part of the Crimean Peninsula determines the unique spatial distribution of the most thermophilic reptile species (Mediodactylus danilewskii, Pseudopus apodus, and Zamenis situla) and, in particular, their wide distribution on the northern macroslope of the Crimean Mountains and (or) the highest elevations in Crimea. The zoning of the territory of Sevastopol, according to herpetological data, made it possible to identify eight districts that differ clearly in species composition and population density of background and rare species. On a national scale, the territory of Sevastopol is important for the conservation of the genetic diversity of species such as Triturus karelinii, M. danilewskii, Ps. apodus, Z. situla, Dolichophis caspius, and Elaphe sauromates. Currently, the state of the populations of T. karelinii, Emys orbicularis, and El. sauromates is most alarming. Scientifically important natural and some synanthropic (in the Khersonesos of Taurida) populations of M. danilewskii, as well as relic populations of the Crimean endemic Lacerta agilis tauridica, require close attention. The “Baydarskyi”, “Cape Aya” and “Laspi” state regional wildlife sanctuaries play the most significant role in preserving the herpetofauna of the region, covering the upper part of the Chernaya River basin (Main Range) and the extreme southwestern part of the Southern Coast of Crimea, as well as the Mekenzievskoe Forestry in the foothills.

    الوصف: In this paper, having introduced a convergence of a series on the root vectors in the Abel-Lidskii sense, we present a valuable application to the evolution equations. The main issue of the paper is an approach allowing us to principally broaden conditions imposed upon the second term of the evolution equation in the abstract Hilbert space. In this way, we come to the definition of the function of an unbounded non-selfadjoint operator. Meanwhile, considering the main issue we involve an additional concept that is a generalization of the spectral theorem for a non-selfadjoint operator.

    الوصف: BACKGROUND: The optimization of the pharmacokinetics of antibiotics is an important aspect in improving the effectiveness of therapy for intra-abdominal infections. Thus, studying the survival of experimental animals with a simulated purulent-inflammatory process in abdominal organs using the combined use of antibacterial agents with endolymphatic agents is worthwhile. AIMS: To examine the effect of the co-administration of cefotaxime and hyaluronidase or bovgyaluronidase azoximer on the survival of mice with a purulent-inflammatory process of the abdominal organs. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The purulent-inflammatory process of the abdominal organs, which was simulated by the intraperitoneal administration of a lethal dose of Staphylococcus aureus microbial suspension to mice, was evaluated. Four study groups were formed, with 28 animals each. Group 1 did not receive treatment, group 2 was administered with cefotaxime, and groups 3 and 4 received antibiotics after preliminary administration of hyaluronidase or bovgialuronidase azoximer. For the statistical analysis of animal survival, the KaplanMeier multiple assessment method was used, and a univariate analysis using a log-rank test was employed to identify significant differences between the groups. RESULTS: During the study, a single injection of cefotaxime alone and in combination with other studied drugs promoted the survival of some mice with a simulated purulent-inflammatory process of the abdominal organs compared with the untreated group, and at the end of the experiment (day 7), 100% of the animals died. Moreover, the best results were achieved with the initial administration of hyaluronidase or bovhyaluronidase azoximer. Thus, on day 7 of observation, 70% of the animals in groups that received both an antibiotic and hyaluronidase or bovgyaluronidase azoximer survived. No statistically significant differences were found in the effect of these drugs on animal survival in the presence of an experimental purulent-inflammatory process. CONCLUSION: A single injection of cefotaxime alone or in combination with other studied drugs ensures the survival of some mice with a simulated purulent-inflammatory process of the abdominal cavity compared with the control group, in which 100% of the animals died by the end of the experiment (day 7). Moreover, the best results were achieved in groups initially administered with hyaluronidase or bovgialuronidase azoximer.
