    الوصف: The growing complexity, fluidity and instability of the environment as well as changing needs are challenges that both enterprises and higher education institutions must face.     الوصف: This book explores a wide range of methodological approaches to examining various forms of workplace physical environments. It focuses on pressing questions regarding the relationship between the spatial component of the workplace, including its progressive hybridisation with other physical and virtual places, and its users, be they public organisations, private companies, or start-up businesses and solopreneurs.International contributors address a range of methods that are applicable both in research and practice to confront the most cutting-edge workplace-related issues. The assumption is that work has been changing, thanks to the virtualisation of many activities, and that homeworking and hybrid working modes are expected to increase significantly after Covid-19. Thus, spaces hosting work need to adapt accordingly. Researchers and practitioners have been struggling to determine how much space will be needed by companies, what kind of space will better host different work activities, which workers are more suited for working from home, and which instead are more productive if they have an office-based working arrangement. The necessary evolution of the office should follow evidence-based decisions on the abovementioned matters, which are only possible through rigorous investigations. This volume aims to support these investigations, which call for inventive applications of qualitative and quantitative methodologies.     الوصف: Despite much learning and research over many decades, large ICT software projects have continued to experience poor outcomes or fallen short of original expectations—some spectacularly so. This is the case in the Australian and New Zealand public sectors, even though these projects operate within historically developed institutional frameworks that provide the rules, guidelines and controls, and aim to consistently improve outcomes.Something is amiss. In Adapting for Inertia, Grant Douglas questions the effectiveness of these institutional frameworks in governing large ICT software projects in the Australian and New Zealand public sectors. He also gauges the perspectives of a large number of actors in projects in both sectors and examines two case studies in detail.The main narrative to emerge is that the institutional frameworks are in a state of inertia: they are failing to adapt, owing to various institutional factors—all of which have public policy implications. Sadly, Douglas finds, this inertia is likely to continue. If there is difficulty in changing the capacity to govern, he proposes, policymakers should look to change the nature of what is to be governed.

Written at the intersection of organizational, gender, and police studies, the book analyses how processes of exclusion and inclusion of LGB sexuality coexist in the Swedish police, how these processes are related to the culture and characteristics of police work, and how police management attempts to create an inclusive organization.How and under what conditions does the exclusion and inclusion of LGB officers and LGB sexuality take place in the Swedish police? By delving into this question, the author seeks to answer, among other things, how it is that there are so few openly gay male police officers and how barriers to inclusion can be understood. The book contributes to a better understanding of the problems and activities associated with diversity issues, particularly with a focus on sexual orientation, but also more generally; many of the insights in the book can be used to understand the inclusion and exclusion of other groups in society.     الوصف: La Red de Estudios Latinoamericanos en Administración y Negocios (RELAYN) presenta el libro denominado Habilidades directivas y clima organizacional. Resultados de una investigación en las micro y pequeñas empresas latinoamericanas, resultado de la investigación conjunta con 94 grupos de investigación de México, Colombia, Perú y Ecuador. El objetivo de la presente obra fue determinar el impacto que tienen las habilidades directivas –toma de decisiones, liderazgo, comunicación, trabajo en equipo– sobre el clima organizacional en las micro y pequeñas empresas de Latinoamérica. Los resultados permiten observar patrones de comportamiento respecto a las habilidades directivas, se presenta un estudio cuantitativo, no experimental, de forma transversal y con un alcance causal. La pertinencia del estudio contribuye a la generación del conocimiento para el desarrollo de un modelo de gestión de la mype en América Latina que permita maximizar la productividad. Entre los principales resultados se puede observar que la habilidad de mayor impacto es el trabajo en equipo, mientras que la de menor impacto es la toma de decisiones que afectan el clima organizacional de las mypes en América Latina. Dicho estudio fue aplicado y dirigido a 45,927 propietarios, directivos o gerentes, pues son los cargos principales en los que recae la toma de decisiones de las mypes.
