| Abstract (English): |
This paper examines the connection between physical activity and academic success. The goals are related to the examination of differences between athletes and non-athletes in performance, likelihood and degree of connection between sports and academic success, and examine the relationship between the success of Physical and Health Education and school success. The study had a transversal character and was conducted on a sample of 118 boys (58 athletes and 60 athletes) aged 16 to 19. The research showed no statistically significant association between practicing sports and school success, there was a statistically significant correlation between the success of the physical and health education and school success, however, the reseatch did not detect differences between athletes and non-athletes in academic performance although practicing athletes had a better academic success on average. Ovaj rad se bavi ispitivanjem povezanosti određenih aspekata tjelesne aktivnosti i školskog uspjeha. Postavljeni ciljevi su se odnosili na ispitivanje razlike između sportista i nesportista u školskom uspjehu, vjerovatnoće i stepena povezanosti između bavljenja sportom i školskog uspjeha, te ispitivanje veze između uspjeha iz tjelesnog i zdravstvenog odgoja i školskog uspjeha. Istraživanje je transferzalnog karaktera i rađeno je na uzorku od 118 mladića (58 sportista i 60 nesportista) starosti od 16 do 19 godina. Rezultati su pokazli da nije pronađena statistički značajna povezanost između bavljena sportom i školskog uspjeha, utvrđena je statistički značajna povezanost između uspjeha iz tjelesnog i zdravstvenog odgoja i školskog uspjeha, međutim nije ustanovljena razlika između sportista i nesportista u školskom uspjehu iako sportisti ostvaruju po prosjeku bolji školski uspjeh.
