مستخلص: The study aims is to determine which power system in the Mapúa Institute of Technology is unbalanced, simulate different scenarios on how the power distribution can be improved, reduced the electricity cost and determine a practical solution to balance power system for the institute. The study had been conducted a power quality analysis for three power systems of Mapúa Institute of Technology. The ammeter reading for each system had been recorded from 7.00 AM until 9.00 PM for every 15 minutes from Monday thru Friday for one month to determine if any system is unbalanced. The results found unbalanced system had consumed more power than a balanced system. Besides, this study also conducted massive data collection, previous “as built” plans, schedules of each classroom, monthly electrical utility bills, loads connected to each circuit breaker in each control panel, and each panel connections up to the service entrance and stimulated in a simulation software. The stimulation was successful through Institute’s daily activities while considering different schedules of each quarter. There was approximated 6% reduction on the total monthly electricity bills. In additions, a plan had been devised on prolonging the balanced state of a power system. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
