The transformation and progressive evolution of the pig sector, towards more complex, technified and larger systems, has caused that the management of the data of the dynamics of production being fundamental to achieve a high level of information, allowing an efficient decision-making and effective. This article presents an organizational study experience oriented to the design of a model for the management of information in pig production on foot for La Esperanza farm of Fusagasugá Colombia. The design was based on the interpretation of the system of human activities (productive system) through the soft systems methodology (MSB) and, in the identification of productive dynamics and decision making, through system dynamics (DS) with the software "Evolution 4.5". Finally, the model for the management of information guided the construction of a prototype of the information system, "UCPigModel", which serves the human pig production system. La transformación y evolución progresiva del sector porcino, hacia sistemas más complejos, tecnificados y de mayor tamaño, ha conllevado a que la gestión de los datos de la dinámica productiva sea fundamental para lograr un alto nivel de información, que permita la toma de decisiones eficientes y efectivas. Este artículo da cuenta de una experiencia de estudio organizacional orientada al diseño de un modelo de gestión de información en la producción porcina en pie, para la finca "la Esperanza" de Fusagasugá Colombia. El diseño se fundó en la interpretación del sistema de actividades humanas (sistema productivo) mediante la metodología de sistemas blandos (MSB) y, en la identificación de la dinámica productiva y la toma de decisiones, mediante la dinámica de sistemas (DS) con el software "Evolución 4.5". Finalmente, el modelo de gestión de información orientó la construcción de un prototipo de sistema de información, "UCPigModel", que sirve al sistema humano de producción porcina.
