After 10 months since Adel Abdul Mahdi took over as prime minister of Iraq previous challenges continue to pose as well as new ones posed by domestic political developments after the last elections last year. In addition. developments in the US-Iranian conflict have a direct and sensitive impact on Iraq. This article attempts to discuss the development of the political process in Iraq after the May 2018 elections and the crises that accompanied the process of forming the government of Adel Abdul Mahdi in August 2018 In an unstable environment on the local and regional sides. بعد مضي عدة أشهر على تسلّم عادل عبد المهدي رئاسة الحكومة العراقية، لا تزال التحديات السابقة تفرض نفسها، إضافة إلى تحديات جديدة فرضتها تطورات الساحة السياسية الداخلية بعد الانتخابات الأخيرة في العام الماضي. علاوة على تطورات الصراع الأمريكي الإيراني ذات التأثير المباشر والحساس في الشأن العراقي. يعرض هذا البحث ويناقش التطور الحاصل في العملية السياسية في العراق بعد انتخابات أيار )مايو( 2018 ، والأزمات التي رافقت عملية تشكيل حكومة عادل عبد المهدي في آب )أغسطس( 2018 ، في ظل بيئة غير مستقرة على الجانب المحلي والإقليمي. ويتناول هذا البحث أيضًا أبعاد أزمات العملية السياسية التي تشكل تحديات لحكومة عادل عبد المهدي.
