The closure of schools due to the pandemic has triggered a number of processes in education, one the most obvious being the importance that digital technology has acquired during the period of distance learning. Since the transition to distance learning was sudden, subsequent reflection is all the more important. The article tries to contribute to the reflection on the role of digital technologies in education and the consequences of their sudden introduction. It links the issue of equal opportunities with different conceptualizations of the digital divide and the concept of digital inequality. The use of technology in education is placed in the context of reflection on the process of introducing technology in education, technological pedagogical knowledge, discussions on values embedded in technology and reflection on the relationship between technology and the reduction of educational goals. Zaprtje šol zaradi pandemije je v vzgoji in izobraževanju sprožilo niz procesov, eden najvidnejših je povezan z digitalno tehnologijo, ki je v obdobju izobraževanja na daljavo pridobila pomen. Ker je bil prehod na pouk na daljavo nenaden, je naknadna refleksija toliko pomembnejša. Članek poskuša prispevati k premisleku o vlogi digitalnih tehnologij v vzgoji in izobraževanju ter posledicah njihove izsiljene vpeljave. Pri tem vprašanje enakih možnosti povezuje z različnimi konceptualizacijami digitalnega razkoraka in konceptom digitalne neenakosti. Rabo tehnologije v izobraževanju pa umešča v kontekst razmisleka o procesu vpeljevanja tehnologij v izobraževanje, tehnološko pedagoškega znanja, razprav o nevtralnosti tehnologije ter razmisleka o odnosu med tehnologijo ter redukcijo ciljev vzgoje in izobraževanja.
