| Abstract (English): |
Wars have always represented the greatest threat to the population, resulting in enourmous tolls on human lives and material damage. With its acute consequence, wars also create mass waves of migration from the people that wish to shelter themselves from the consequences of wars or are evading in the fear of persecution on political, national or religious basis. In 2022, with the beginning of war in Ukraine, a humanitarian crisis has begun and Europe has found itself a destination for migrations from the war-torn areas. The media play an important role in providing information because they can influence attitudes and opinions towards migrants who are more often unknown to the host countries. That is why it is important that media is objective and does not resort to sensationalism when reporting about migrants, therefore the way we report about the migrations that originate in Syria should be equal to the way of reporting about the migrations that originate in Ukraine. Ratovi su oduvijek predstavljali najveću prijetnju stanovništvu koja za posljedicu ima ogroman broj ljudskih žrtava i količinu materijalne štete. Uz akutnu posljedicu, ratovi također uzrokuju masovne valove migracija ljudi koji se žele skloniti od posljedica rata ili bježe u strahu od proganjanja na političkoj, nacionalnoj ili vjerskoj osnovi. 2022. godine, izbijanjem rata u Ukrajini, izbila je humanitarna kriza te je Europa postala odredište za migracije iz ratom zahvaćenih područja. Mediji imaju važnu ulogu u informiranju jer mogu utjecati na stavove i mišljenja prema migrantima koji su nerijetko nepoznanica državama domaćinima. Zato je važno da su mediji objektivni i da ne pribjegavaju senzacionalizmu prilikom izvještavanja te da ravnopravno izvještavaju o migrantima, odnosno da način izvještavanja o migracijama iz smjera Sirije bude jednak načinu izvještavanja o migrancijama iz smjera Ukrajine.
