So the research was based on the definition of isolation and the statement of their origins, their principles, the beliefs of the people of retirement, Their upbringing and place of departure, the factors to their backs, and hence the most important contemporary perceptions of isolation, According to its division in three directions and opinions, a sect attacks the isolation and refuses to recognize them as an Islamic band, A community that commends and values their service to religion with their thoughts and defences witnessed by history. The other balances the judgment between their statement of status with all the negatives to be alerted to, and pros that deserve praise and appreciation, because of what some contemporaries have written. لذا قام البحث على تعريف المعتزلة وبيان أصولهم, ومبادئهم, وعقائد أهل الإعتزال, ونشأتهم ومكان إنطلاقتهم, والعوامل التي إلى ظهورهم, ومن ثم أهم النظرات المعاصرة للمعتزلة, وفق تقسيمها على ثلاثة اتجاهات واراء, فطائفة تهاجم المعتزلة وترفض الإعتراف بهم كفرقة إسلامية, وطائفة تثني وتثمن خدمتهم للدين بما قدموه من أفكار و دفاعات شهد لها التاريخ, واخرى توازن الحكم بين بيان حالهم بما فيه من سلبيات يجب التنبيه عليها, وايجابيات تستحق المدح والتقدير, وذلك بما حوته كتب بعض من المعاصرين.
