مستخلص: The ESG and sustainability boom in emerging or developing economies has caused the sudden emergence of greenwashing, which is directly or indirectly impeding sustainable progress in the developing world. So, how is one to combat this emerging crisis of green- washing, why is it imperative to address this issue now, and what are its ripple effects in the value chain? This research article takes in to account some of the prevalent methods of greenwashing, which we call EHG (eyewash, hog wash, and greenwash), their implications to the stakeholders, including the adoption and growth of sustainable investing, ways to mitigate greenwashing, and the way forward.
