مستخلص: New ways for manufacturing drug delivery dosage forms are necessary to meet the increased demand for individualized pharmaceuticals. One of the most recent advances in this field is three-dimensional printing. 3D printing is a process of layer-by-layer fabrication. Solid pills, gels, suppositories, soft gums, capsules, biomedical implants, and many more goods are manufactured using 3D printing technology. Inkjet printing, fused deposition modeling, selective laser sintering, stereolithography, and extrusion-based 3D printing are some of the technologies available. In 3D printing, a variety of materials and polymers may be used as raw materials. Anticancer medications, antihypertensive pharmaceuticals, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are among the drugs that may be administered via the 3D printing approach. Certain drug delivery devices made using 3D printing function as tailored drugs, such as patches, instant, and quick release tablets. 3D printing technology can overcome many of the existing hurdles in the creation of individualized medications.
