مستخلص: This occurs through a fly depositing eggs in an open wound or sore, or hatching larvae with the ability to directly burrow into intact skin.[1] Pediculosis capitis is one of the most common scalp infestations in school-age children, especially in developing countries such as the Philippines.[2] A chronic skin infection such as a secondarily infected pediculosis capitis infestation is a viable site attracting flesh flies. On physical examination, the scalp was found to be severely impetiginized and excoriated from a chronic pediculosis capitis infestation (Fig. These patients instead prioritize seeking care for acute diseases such as diarrhea or respiratory tract infections and view skin infestations as part of day-to-day life.[3] The complication of myiasis in this case could have been easily avoided.
