مستخلص: Asynchrony is a frequent problem in critical care units, being underdiagnosed by the treating team and often requiring advanced monitoring equipment for its detection. Ultrasonography of the diaphragm allows direct observation, in real time, of muscle displacement and its synchronization with the ventilator waveforms, which results in a promising tool for interpreting difficult to diagnose asynchronies.
