مستخلص: The purpose of this study is to discuss the need to establish ethical standards to guide the social media influencer communication, an emerging field at the intersection of three established public communication fields: journalism, public relations, and advertising. Previous studies dedicated to the ethics of influencer communication focus on three major themes: authenticity, transparency and disclosure of sponsorship, themes that also appeared in the debates in Romania when the misconducts of some local influencers were covered by media.
