This study analyses the accountability mechanism of royal officials in the Catalonia of the ancien regime known as the table trial (judici de taula). It provides an in-depth study of various kinds of primary documentation, such as the legislation approved by the late mediaeval and modern Catalan Courts in relation to the table trial, contemporary testimonies and, in particular, the previously unpublished documentary resources preserved in the Archive and Episcopal Library of Vic on this institution. This allows us to obtain a more accurate vision of the table trial, showing the differences between that stipulated in the law and daily procedural practice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |

Aquest treball analitza el mecanisme de rendició de comptes dels oficials reials a la Catalunya de l'antic règim coneguda com a judici de taula. Per fer-ho, s'estudia amb profunditat documentació primària de diversa índole, com és ara la legislació aprovada per les Corts Catalanes baixmedievals i modernes referent al judici de taula, testimonis de coetanis i, molt especialment, els fons documentals preservats a l'Arxiu i Biblioteca Episcopal de Vic sobre aquesta institució, fins ara inèdits. Tot plegat permet obtenir una visió més acurada al voltant del judici de taula, que evidencia les diferències entre allò disposat per la llei i la pràctica processal quotidiana.
