The political principles of the German government for the export of war weapons and other armaments stipulate that Germany intends to restrict its arms export policy and align exports with Germany's foreign policy interests. Export permits are not granted if there is reasonable suspicion that the goods will be used for internal repression or human rights violations. Der Artikel gibt einen Überblick über deutsche und europarechtliche Regelungen für Rüstungsgeschäfte. Es wird betont, dass Rüstungsexport nicht mit Waffenhandel verwechselt werden sollte. Der Umgang mit Kriegswaffen und anderen Rüstungsgütern wird durch das Kriegswaffenkontrollgesetz geregelt, während der Export von Dual-Use-Gütern durch das Außenwirtschaftsgesetz und die Außenwirtschaftsverordnung streng reguliert wird. Die politischen Grundsätze der Bundesregierung für den Export von Kriegswaffen und anderen Rüstungsgütern legen fest, dass Deutschland seine Rüstungsexportpolitik restriktiv gestalten und den Export am außenpolitischen Interesse Deutschlands orientieren will. Exportgenehmigungen werden nicht erteilt, wenn ein hinreichender Verdacht besteht, dass die Güter zur internen Repression oder zu Menschenrechtsverletzungen missbraucht werden.
