مستخلص: This article discusses the role of traditional serum biomarkers in the management of pancreatic cancer (PC) patients. The study evaluated the relationship between tumor stage and various serum biomarkers, including carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (Ca19-9), direct bilirubin, aminotransferases, γ-glutamyltransferase (GGT), and alkaline phosphatase (ALP). The results showed that Ca19-9, GGT, and ALP levels were significantly associated with tumor stage, while direct bilirubin and aminotransferases levels were not. The study also found that Ca19-9 levels were related to PC stage but not tumor size. The authors suggest that traditional biomarkers, including Ca19-9, GGT, and ALP, can still be useful as prognostic tools in the management of PC. [Extracted from the article]
