New research from the Sinhgad College of Pharmacy in Maharashtra, India, explores the wound healing potential of a standardized extract from the Tabernaemontana divaricata plant. The study found that a hydrogel formulation of the extract showed significant wound healing activity in experimental models of wounds in rats. The hydrogel promoted wound contraction, epithelialization, and increased tensile strength. The researchers concluded that the formulation has potential for further study in clinical trials.
