مستخلص: Numerical modeling of geophysical flows represents a fundamental tool to evaluate the volcanic hazard at active volcanoes. Here, we present a new approach that combines the modeling of pyroclastic currents and lava flows with the aim of reproducing the paroxysmal eruption that occurred on 10 February 2022 at Mt. Etna, where almost simultaneously pyroclastic currents and lava flows were emplaced during the climax phase. This study investigates the relative influence of the simulated pyroclastic currents on the modeling of lava flow emplacement, for a proper volcanic assessment due to concurrent hazardous events.
