مستخلص: A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Massachusetts Boston examined access to mental health services among primary care patients. The study found that approximately 14% of surveyed patients reported trying to access mental health services, with about 10% of privately insured respondents and 20% of Medicaid respondents attempting to make appointments for mental health care. Additionally, 15% of privately insured respondents and 11% of Medicaid respondents reported difficulties in obtaining appointments with counselors. The study suggests that these findings can be used to develop a measure of access to mental health care for patient experience surveys in order to monitor access to behavioral health care.
