Abstract (English): The article is a review of the book "Cosmopolitanism, state sovereignty, and international law and politics: a theory" by Jorge. E. Núñez, which analyzes the relationship between cosmopolitanism and state sovereignty. The author argues that sovereignty and cosmopolitanism can work together, proposing a paradigm shift that recognizes limited sovereignty and legal cosmopolitanism as compatible. The text presents a multidimensional analysis and focuses on legal cosmopolitanism, seeking to offer a theoretical proposal that adjusts to the complexity of the current reality. Examples of territorial disputes are mentioned, such as the Falkland Islands/Malvinas and the difference between Israel and Palestine, highlighting the importance of recognizing national, regional, and international contexts in sovereignty and cosmopolitanism. The author seeks to demonstrate that sovereignty and cosmopolitanism can be compatible and proposes an interdisciplinary and analytical approach to address territorial disputes.
