| Abstract (English): |
This article addresses a problem in the Mexican dairy industry and involves stakeholders upon whom the operation of this sector depends. I am referring to the small dairy units, which have long been in a vulnerable situation due to their operating in an oligopsonistic market where the processors hold dominance. A lack of technology, resources, training, business knowledge, project entrepreneurship, along with isolated operation, exacerbates the situation. Since the late 20th century, cooperation has emerged as a strategy for small and medium-sized economic units to survive in a challenging market and to improve their well-being. The work aims to highlight a model of business cooperation between dairy units. By pooling resources and efforts, productive development is strengthened with the goal of achieving survival and in order to contribute to regional development. The case study of Cooperative Prolea in Acatic, Jalisco is used. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |

Este artículo aborda una problemática que existe en la industria lechera mexicana que atañe a actores de que depende la operación de este sector. Me refiero a las pequeñas unidades lecheras, las cuales desde hace tiempo están en una situación vulnerable debido a que operan en un mercado oligopsónico, donde las procesadoras tienen el dominio. La falta de tecnología, recursos, capacitación, conocimientos empresariales, emprendimiento de proyectos, así como la operación aislada, agravan su situación. Desde finales del siglo xx, la cooperación ha surgido como estrategia para que unidades económicas pequeñas y medianas sobrevivan en un mercado desafiante y mejoren su bienestar. Este trabajo busca destacar un modelo de cooperación empresarial entre unidades lecheras. Al unir recursos y esfuerzos, se fortalece el desarrollo productivo con el objetivo de lograr la supervivencia y contribuir al desarrollo regional.
