The article presents a reprint of the article "Lysenko's Experiments," which appeared in the February 1949 issue of "Discovery." The author examines the biologist T. D. Lysenko's evidence and weight it against his own experience in plant genetics. He attempts to analyze Lysenko's belief, including the breeding of grafted plants, vegetative hybridization, the inheritance of acquired characters, and the rapid conversion of hard wheat Triticum durum into winter wheat T. vulgare. |
