مستخلص: The article examines issues related to the classroom behavior of students who have visual impairments (VI), autism spectrum disorders (ASD), or a combination of both. The author discusses how students who have VI often display behaviors similar to students with ASD because VI are neurologically based disorders. She notes that this can complicate the issue of determining if a student with VI also has ASD. The author compares how students with VI and how students with VI and ASD use language and communicate, how they participate in social interactions and how educators can respond to and manage stereotypical behaviors.
