مستخلص: In this study, it is aimed to investigate the sound radiation from a chaotically vibrating beam/panel. The differential equation of beam/panel vibration is solved using a numerical integration method. The sound radiated from the plate is computed using the Rayleigh's integral. In the simulation results, when a curved panel is resonantly excited to undergo chaotic vibration, a significant portion of the dominant frequencies of the panel response is much lower than the excitation frequency. This is described as 'high frequency excitation input - low frequency response output' or 'frequency conversion'. It is found that the normalized radiated sound energy of the chaotically vibrating curved panel can be much lower because of the very low sound radiation efficiency. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
