مستخلص: Erythema multiforme (EM) is an inflammatory mucocutaneous condition typically triggered by infectious agents, most commonly herpes simplex virus (HSV). Here, we present four cases of recurrent EM in immunocompetent male patients, aged 22 to 42 years, who sought treatment at the Stomatology Service. These patients exhibited clinical features characterized by multiple, recurrent, irregular, and painful ulcerations that could occur at various locations within the oral mucosa. Additionally, some of them presented with skin and genital lesions and regional lymphadenopathy. The diagnosis of EM was established after ruling out other conditions within the differential diagnosis. The treatment approach for these patients involved the use of corticosteroids and acyclovir, with amoxicillin-clavulanate occasionally added. Antiviral treatment was continued as a preventive measure against recurrent EM. Pain relief was typically achieved within 2 to 3 days after initiating treatment, and the oral ulcerations resolved within 7 to 10 days. All patients in this case series were placed on a regimen of chronic suppressive antiviral therapy, and as a result, none of them experienced new episodes of EM. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
