مستخلص: In this article, the authors discuss the ramifications of the passage of the 2009 Public Corruption Prosecution Improvements Act by the United States Congress. The administration of U.S. President Barack Obama intended that the new law would improve federal anti-corruption statutes and make it easier to prosecute under the illegal gratuity statute by clarifying the law and making it easier for investigators and prosecutors to attack public corruption. The authors conclude that the new law is not sophisticated or detailed enough to deal with actions that don't fall into the vague descriptions provided in the statute.
