| مستخلص: | The conference in Uppsala was organized by the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions. It was divided into 5 sections: DNA-analysis, research in paper conservation, pigment analysis, dating of documents, and reading texts and image analysis. On day 1, a visit to Stokloster Castle and library was organized. During day 2, eight presentations on DNA analysis, paper conservation, and pigment analysis were given. On day 3, sessions on dating of documents, reading texts, and image analysis were presented. The conference demonstrated that the contemporary field of conservation and preservation of archival materials is increasingly dependent on scientific collaboration from different fields, and that archivists need to be up-to-date with scientific achievements to recognize and to help solve problems.
