The article presents an edited version of the "Tale of the Little Yellow Squares," by E. F. Colyer published in the Lighting Journal dated March 1976. The title refers to the yellow squares painted on street lamps that were switched off due to the cost cutting decision of the Highway and Parks Committee of the London Burough of Bromley.
