مستخلص: The occurrence of amniotic fluid embolism is most frequent among older multiparas with normal courses of pregnancy and normal past histories. In many cases, the delivery is of a known dead fetus, and often the fetus is lost because of coincidental disease. Frequently the fetus is quite large and postmature, and these factors lead to obstetrical difficulty. All of these conditions contribute to the presence of meconium in the amniotic fluid.
