•Model for predicting total loads of TBM under soil-rock mixed condition is proposed;•Different interaction characteristics between equipment and rock/soil are analyzed;•Model is applicable under only layered soil, only layered rock, and soil-rock mixed conditions;•Total loads decrease linearly with rock layer increasing due to the change of non-contact range;•Loads and penetration depth are power relation, and the coefficientsvary relying on geology. |
