مستخلص: This quasi-experimental study was a cross-sectional descriptive observation involving four middle-aged familial married women in Shiraz, southern Iran, who claimed infestation with “bugs” for more than five years. These sufferers were helpless with clinical exams, medications, and ineffective self-treatments adopted individually. They voluntarily provided specimens during bath for examination in laboratory located in department of biology and control of disease vectors of Shiraz University of medical sciences. 52 Collembola specimens of both sexes, immature, and adult stages, were compiled by sufferers. The specimens were cleared by Nesbitt solution and after clearance, specimens mounted in Hoyer’s liquid on microscopic slides for identification. Identification and confirmation by valid taxonomic keys and Dr. Nikolas G. Cipola (Brazil) emerged as Drepanura pallensRusek, 1981 Rusek, 1981 (Collembola, Entomobryidae, Entomobryinae), validated for the first time in Iran. Since these microarthropoda are soil litter dwellers with atypical mouthparts and no synanthropic eco-morphological adaptation to live on humans, delusions of parasitosis (DP) is likely to be involved. Short notification for species including the material studied, a distribution and a short description of the new record and some illustrations are given.
