| الوصف: | Most cases of cardiogenic shock (CS) are caused by an acute myocardial infarction (STEMI or NSTEMI). Despite progress in therapy of (N)STEMI, the mortality of cardiogenic shock remains high (50-70 %). The diagnostic pathway includes clinical assesment, ECG and, most importantly, echocardiography. Adequate therapy of cardiogenic shock comprises of intensive care therapy including use of vasopressors and inotropes, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) as soon as possible and the use of assist devices, e.g. intraaortic balloon pumping (IABP). |
