Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the hand represents a unique challenge due to highly complex regional anatomy. This chapter provides a synopsis on normal hand anatomy with review of main organizational principles and structure-function relationship of the osseous and capsuloligamentous structures, musculature and tendons, and their appearance on MRI.
