The general objective of the article is to carry through a critical analysis to Program of Assistance to Victims and Witnesses Threatened (PROVITA). For in such a way, of beginning, it becomes reconstruction of the historical context and social for which it passed cited Program and, after this, one searches to clarify concerning as if it gave its institutionalization and, verifying itself as if of the o its functioning through requirements for the ingression that they need protection. Finally, the possible imperfections presented for the Program and the impacts are distinguished that this generates in the life of its beneficiaries.
