| الوصف: | Studentu labizjūta un apmierinātība ar dzīvi ir bijis viens no pētījumu un prakses trendiem pēdējo desmitgadu laikā. Bieži vien studenti, kas ierodas studēt citā valstī, integrācijas procesā saskaras ar virkni šķēršļu. Šī darba ietvaros tika pētīta ārvalstu studentu subjektīvā labzijūta, kā arī problēmas, ar ko tie saskaras integrējoties Latvijas augstākajās izglītības iestādēs Maģistra darba mērķis ir pētīt Latvijas augstākajās izglītības iestādēs studējošo ārvalstu studentu labizjūtu, lai veicinātu viņu integrāciju uzņēmējvalsts īpašajā vidē . Izvēlētā pētījuma metode bija naratīvā analīze, kas tika veikta deviņu nedēļu garumā Biznesa Augstskolā Turība, kā arī tiešsaistē. Pētījuma veikšanai tika izmantotas šādas datu vākšanas metodes: padziļināta intervija, anketēšana un naratīvā intervija. Maģistra darba autore intervēja deviņus ārvalstu studentus, kas apgūst programmas augstākajās mācību iestādēs Biznesa Augstskola Turība un Latvijas Universitāte, lai pētītu viņu labizjūtas līmeni. Pamatojoties uz datiem, var secināt, ka vairums respondentu demonstrē nosacīti augstu labizjūtas līmeni. Tālāk ārvalstu studentiem tika piedāvāta aptauja ar mērķi apstiprināt ievāktos datus. Aptaujas mērķis bija noteikt ārvalstu studentu subjektīvo labizjūtas līmeni. Aptaujā kopumā piedalījās 25 ārvalstu studenti. Pētījumā ievāktie dati liecina, ka vairums ārvalstu studentu demonstrē drīzāk augstu labizjūtas līmeni. Visbeidzot tika veikta naratīvā intervija ar pasniedzējiem. Tās mērķis bija pētīt pasniedzēju viedokli par augstākās izglītības internacionalizāciju un to, kā augstākās izglītības internacionalizācijas process var ietekmēt pasniedzēju “ profesionālo dzīvi”. Galvenie Maģistra darbā izdarītie secinājumi ir: Latvijā ārvalstu studentiem ir augsts labjūtības līmenis. Students’ well-being and life satisfaction have been one of the important trends in research and practice over the last decades. Often students, who come to study to another country encounter a number of challenges in the process of integration. Within the framework of the current research international students’ subjective well-being was explored, as well as the problems they encounter within the integration in Latvian higher education institutions (HEIs) were analyzed. The aim of the Master’s Paper was to explore well-being of international students in Latvian HEIs in order to foster their integration in the specific environment of the host country. The chosen method of research was narrative analysis carried out during nine weeks in Business Higher School Turība and online. To conduct the research, the following data collection methods were used: in-depth interview, questionnaire, and narrative interview. The author of the Master’s Paper interviewed nine international students enrolled in higher education programmes at the Business Higher School Turība and the University of Latvia (UL) to explore their level of subjective well-being. Based on the data, the conclusion was drawn that the majority of the respondents demonstrated relatively high level of subjective well-being. In the framework of the next research stage, the questionnaire to international students was carried out in order to validate the collected data. The aim of the questionnaire was to measure the extent of international students’ subjective well-being. Altogether 25 international students responded to the questionnaire. The results obtained in the research framework confirmed that the majority of the respondents demonstrated rather high levels of well-being. Finally, the narrative interview with educators was conducted. The aim of the narrative interview was to explore educators’ opinions on higher education internationalization, and how the process of higher education internationalization can influence educators’ professional life. The main conclusions of the Master’s Paper are as follows: international students, who came to Latvia in order to study have high level of subjective well-being. |
