Die vorliegende Masterthese untersucht die Funktionen und Bedeutung von (Sozial-)Räumen für wohnungslose Frauen* in Wien. Es wird damit eine genderspezifische sowie sozialräumliche Perspektive auf Wohnungslosigkeit erarbeitet, um auf die sozialräumliche Situation wohnungsloser Frauen* aufmerksam zu machen. Neben lückenhafter wissenschaftlicher Auseinandersetzung mit Frauen* in prekären Wohnsituationen wird Frauen* und ihrer Prekarität und damit weiblicher* Wohnungslosigkeit politisch wenig Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt. Aus sozialarbeiterischer Perspektive, welche den Rahmen dieser Masterthese bildet, ist die Wohnungslosenhilfe jedoch täglich mit sozialräumlichen Bedürfnissen und damit mit Bedeutungen und Funktionen von (Sozial-)Räumen wohnungsloser Frauen* konfrontiert. Die Befassung mit weiblicher* Wohnungslosigkeit zielt zudem darauf ab ihre Sichtbarkeit zu erhöhen, um sie als soziales Problem ernst zu nehmen. Im Zuge eines qualitativen Forschungsverfahrens, wurde mit Hilfe von Interviews mit wohnungslosen Frauen* ihre Perspektive zu wichtigen (Sozial-)Räumen und ihren Bedeutungszuschreibungen erhoben. Im Zuge dieser Interviews wurde die sozialräumliche Methode der Mental Map eingesetzt. Weibliche* Wohnungslosigkeit wird im Verständnis von Pierre Bourdieus Sozialraumtheorie im Kontext des Machtraums analysiert, indem dieses soziale Phänomen gesellschaftlich positioniert wird. Im Rahmen der Forschung wurden spezifische Sozialräume, sowohl innerhalb der Wiener Wohnungslosenhilfe als auch außerhalb identifiziert und ihre Bedeutung für die Lebenswelt von wohnungslosen Frauen* dargestellt. Außerdem konnten Erkenntnisse erlangt werden wie die wohnungslosen Frauen* diese Räume und deren Funktionalität für ihre eigene Situation nutzen. Durch die Analyse der Daten konnte verdeutlicht werden, wie wichtig die Ausgestaltung von (Sozial-)Räumen, vor allem von Hilfsangeboten wie der Wiener Wohnungslosenhilfe, ist und wie sie dazu beitragen können, die Situation von wohnungslosen Frauen* zu verbessern und ihre Bedürfnisse besser zu verstehen. Diese Arbeit soll zur Erweiterung des Wissens über die Bedeutung von (Sozial-)Räumen für wohnungslose Frauen* beitragen und Ansatzpunkte für weitere Forschung und Maßnahmen zur Unterstützung dieser Zielgruppe bieten. This master thesis investigates the functions and significance of (social) spaces for homeless women* in Vienna. It thus develops a gender-specific and socio-spatial perspective on homelessness, with the aim of drawing attention to the socio-spatial situation of homeless women*. In addition to the limited scientific engagement with women* in precarious housing situations, little political attention is paid to women* and their precariousness and thus to female* homelessness. From a social work perspective, which forms the framework of this master's thesis, homelessness aid services are confronted daily with socio-spatial needs and thus with the meanings and functions of (social) spaces of homeless women*. The engagement with female* homelessness also aims to increase its visibility in order to take it seriously as a social problem. As part of a qualitative research method, the perspective of homeless women* on important (social) spaces and their attributions of significance was gathered through interviews. The social spatial method of the Mental Map was used in these interviews. Female* homelessness is analyzed in the context of the power space according to Pierre Bourdieu's social space theory by positioning this social phenomenon. As part of the research, specific (social) spaces, both within the Viennese homelessness aid service and outside, were identified and their significance for the lifeworld of homeless women* was presented. Furthermore, it was possible to gain insights into how homeless women* use these spaces and their functionality for their own situation. The analysis of the data highlighted the importance of the design of (social) spaces, especially of support services such as the Wiener Wohnungslosenhilfe (Vienna Assistance for the Homeless), and how they can contribute to improving the situation of homeless women* and better understanding their needs. This work aims to contribute to the expansion of knowledge about the significance of (social) spaces for homeless women* and to provide starting points for further research and measures to support this target group.
