| الوصف: | Although biography studies have been neglected for a while, the interests of contemporary researchers have recently started to turn to this field. In this article, we planned to research the life of Shuraḥbīl b. Ḥasana, one of the important figures of Islamic history, by making a biography study. In our study, we focused on the political and military life and official duties of the companions. The name of the companion, whose name is not frequently encountered in the narrations about the events of the Messenger of Allah, is mentioned in many events during the period of the rightful caliphs. Shuraḥbīl b. Ḥasana, whose narrations about him are mostly contradictory, are related to Abu Bakr and Omar came to the forefront as a commander in the events that took place in the period of Omar. After his first command in the armies sent against the apostate movements, he continued this duty in the conquests of Damascus. His conquest of the entire Jordanian region caused him to be called the Conqueror of Jordan, and he died in the plague epidemic along with many companions in the conquest of Damascus, which he participated as a commander. Biyografi çalışmaları bir süre ihmal edilmiş olsa da muasır araştırmacıların ilgileri son dönemde bu alana yönelmeye başlamıştır. Bu makalenin de İslâm tarihinin önemli şahsiyetlerinden biri olan Şürahbîl b. Hasene’nin hayatının ele alınması itibariyle bu yönelimin bir parçasını teşkil etmesi planlanmaktadır. Çalışmamızda Şürahbîl b. Hasene’nin özellikle siyasî ve askerî hayatı, resmi görevleri üzerinde durulmuştur. Resûlullah dönemi olaylarının aktarıldığı rivayetlere bakıldığında sahâbînin ismine çok fazla rastlanılmazken râşid halifeler döneminde pek çok olayda ismi karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Hakkındaki rivayetlerin çoğu çelişkili olan Şürahbîl b. Hasene, Hz. Ebû Bekir ve Hz. Ömer dönemindeki fetihlerde kumandan olarak ön plana çıkmıştır. İrtidat hareketlerine karşı gönderilen ordulardaki ilk komutanlığından sonra Şam fetihlerinde de bu görevini devam ettirmiştir. Ürdün bölgesinin tamamını fethetmesi Ürdün fatihi olarak anılmasına vesile olmuştur. Komutan olarak katıldığı Şam fetihlerinde çok sayıda sahâbî ile birlikte veba salgınında vefat etmiştir. |
