| الوصف: | This research aimed to identify the relationships that the Benedito Leite Public Library maintains with memory, cultural heritage and sociability in São Luís, based on the arguments of users who participate in the educational services of the institution. This is an exploratory and descriptive research, with a quantitative and qualitative approach, which made use of systematic observation with a logbook and mixed questionnaires of 10 questions, whose data collection had a sample universe of 62 users who participated in educational services. We point out that, no matter how different the profiles of the users of the Benedito Leite Public Library are, their testimonies converge on the importance of the institution for the preservation of history, memory and heritage. By mediating and disseminating cultural heritage through its educational services, the Library allows the reconstruction of the memory of the citizens of São Luís and the creation of links, made explicit by the symbolic and affective contours between its visitors, users, and professionals |
