| الوصف: | Cet article est le témoignage d’un jeune technicien qui eut la chance d’être un participant actif dans l’aventure du rayonnement synchrotron : le RS, à la demande de mademoiselle Yvette Cauchois, directeur du Laboratoire de chimie-physique. Il raconte les conditions qui lui ont permis de réaliser, auprès du synchrotron de Frascati en 1963, la première mesure utilisant cette nouvelle source de lumière, que les physiciens des particules de l’époque, qualifiaient de « parasite », offrant ainsi à la physique un nouvel outil pour scruter et analyser la matière. This article is the account of a young technician, who was fortunate enough to participate in the adventure of synchrotron radiation on the request of Yvette Cauchois, director of the laboratory of physical chemistry. It describes the conditions that made it possible to carry out in 1963 on the Frascati synchrotron, the first measurement using this new light source, which particle physicists then called “parasite”, providing thereby physics with a new instrument for probing and analyzing matter. |
