| الوصف: | Une typologie du kabuki sur la scène américaine permet d’interroger la pertinence linguistique du terme interculturalisme. Certains emprunts entraînent la refonte chronotopique d’une pièce selon une démarche transculturelle-, d’autres, utopiques, relèvent d’une stratégie interthéâtrale en juxtaposant un style japonais à une textualité et à une référentialité occidentales intactes. Ailleurs encore, partie prenante d’une rhétorique postmoderne, le kabuki se constitue en trope de l’allégorie et désigne la liberté de l’hybridation esthétique. L’inévitable processus d’interprétation rend d’avance caduque toute prétention à la vérité de l’original pour faire triompher la vraisemblance et la fiction. Au gré de fertiles malentendus, la poétique de l’emprunt finit par théâtraliser un modèle qui se prête tout au long à une subversion respectueuse. Throwing into perspective the different uses of the Kabuki theatre on the American stage, it is possible to question the linguistic validity of the term interculturalism. Some borrowings entail the chronotopic revision of a play along the Unes of a transcultural method; others are utopian and partake of a theatrical strategy as they juxtapose a Japanese style with a Western text and reference kept intact. Elsewhere, as a component of a postmodern rhetoric, Kabuki is made into the very trope of allegory and signais the freedom of aesthetic hybridization. It raises the question of interpretation, undermines any claim to the truth of the original and instead promûtes verisimilitude and fictionality. Through fruitful misunderstandings, the poetics of borrowing amounts to a theatricalization of the model thus respectfully subverted. |
