| الوصف: | Située dans les Hauts de France, Tourcoing a un paysage urbain qui présente une architecture et une morphologie marquées par la vocation textile de la conurbation Lille-Roubaix-Tourcoing. Au XIXe siècle, elle s’affirme, avec Roubaix, comme l’une des capitales mondiales de l’industrie textile. Mais, dans la deuxième moitié du XXe siècle, la troisième révolution industrielle modifie la situation. La ville est sinistrée, sa population appauvrie. Les mutations socio-économiques et spatiales se conjuguent, des choix s’imposent. Face à ses difficultés, mais consciente de son potentiel, la ville de Tourcoing valorise son patrimoine. La labellisation « Ville ou Pays d’Art et d’Histoire » en 2017 y participe. De multiples acteurs institutionnels, associatifs, travailleurs interviennent. Aujourd’hui, la municipalité, comme les habitants, coopèrent afin de conférer à la ville une image de territoire dynamique, sans pour autant occulter le passé. Le projet de la carte des habitants de Tourcoing en est l’illustration. Il s’agit d’une carte créée par des habitants. Travailler sur cet outil permet de se demander comment il participe à faire connaître les émotions, les perceptions, mais aussi le vécu de ses concepteurs, ici des habitants. Le travail présenté est l’observation, le récit et l’analyse d’un atelier de création de cette carte des habitants de Tourcoing. Nous y avons assisté en tant qu’habitante créatrice, mais aussi témoin, dans la perspective de la rédaction de notre thèse et de notre enseignement en Géographie dans le Secondaire. Ce travail s’est effectué en connaissant le terrain d’étude, mais également d’autres cartes subjectives. Il s’agit essentiellement d’un travail d’observation, d’entretiens et de discussions souvent informels, à l’exception de ceux avec l’équipe d’infographistes. Au-delà de l’objectif premier de découvrir l’atelier mis en place, cette observation et son analyse nous ont permis de saisir le perçu et le vécu des habitants, de découvrir un imaginaire collectif participant à l’essor culturel, à la valorisation de la ville. Located in the Hauts de France, Tourcoing has an urban landscape which presents an architecture and a morphology marked by the textile vocation of the Lille-Roubaix-Tourcoing conurbation. In the 19th century, it established itself, along with Roubaix, as one of the world capitals of the textile industry. But in the second half of the twentieth century, the third industrial revolution changed the situation. The city is devastated, its population impoverished. Socio-economic and spatial changes combine, choices are needed. Faced with its difficulties, but aware of its potential, the city of Tourcoing values its heritage. The "City or Country of Art and History" label in 2017 is part of this. Many institutional, associative and worker actors intervene. Today, the municipality and the inhabitants cooperate in order to give the city an image of a dynamic territory, without obscuring the past. The project of the map of the inhabitants of Tourcoing is an illustration of this. This is a map created by locals. Working on this tool makes it possible to wonder how it contributes to making known the emotions, the perceptions, but also the lived experiences of its designers, here of the inhabitants? The work presented is the observation, story and analysis of a workshop to create this map of the inhabitants of Tourcoing. We attended as an inhabitant-creator, but also a witness, in the perspective of the writing of our thesis and our teaching in Geography in the Secondary. This work was done knowing the field of study, but also other subjective maps. It is essentially a job of observation, interviews and discussions that are often informal, except for those with the team of graphic designers. Beyond the primary objective of discovering the workshop set up, this observation and its analysis allowed us to grasp the perception and the lived experience of the inhabitants, to discover a collective imagination participating in the cultural development, in the promotion from the city. |
