مستخلص: When it comes to education, motivation and access have always contributed to the success or failure of young people in this country. Individuals' mindsets were correlated with their academic attainment. It is possible that a person's openness of mind is the gatekeeper of their success. The purpose of this ex post facto study was to determine if the implementation of a growth mindset intervention program led to an increase in mathematical achievement for African American male students in the third, fourth, and fifth grades. In this study, I tested the validity of the programming mindset in elementary school as opposed to trying to change it in secondary school. After delivering a mindset program to students in third through fifth grades, I collected 144 samples of students' responses to pre- and post-test surveys. As a result of the program, a significant difference was found in the mindsets of the students. The findings indicated there was a significant difference in students' performance on the state assessment based on their mindsets. The data were analyzed using a Spearman rho correlation, paired-samples t-test, and an ANCOVA. A positive correlation with student achievement, growth mindset, and the growth mindset intervention program was found through the analytics of the data.
